Would your allotment like the output of my wormery? What with moving and all, I need to decommission it for a while, so would you like the compost? I can put it into rubble bags - realistically only one or two bags, not particularly full - and bring it over one weekend this spring. I'm keeping the wormery itself, pending the move.

Let me know.

Ben

Now there's a plan smiley - ok The allotment needs all the good organic matter it can get and it'd be good to see you.

smiley - erm Not meaning to suggest that you're part of that good organic material...

At least you didn't say "and it'll be good to see you, however briefly..."

Can we aim for a weekend in March? Up until then I am smiley - tennisballs-out putting stuff into storage so that the house is clear enough for the sparks and the builders. March will be prepping the house for potential buyers.

Good to know it'll be going to a good home. smiley - smiley

Excellent smiley - biggrin Sometime in March it is. I've not had the schedule of tutorials for my latest OU course yet but that will probably just be one Saturday morning in the midle of March, so not difficult to work around.

I accidentally used the contents of the wormery when I was planting up the flower bed in front of the house this evening. I don't know what came over me. One minute I was posting on h2g2, and the next I'd dug the compost into the flower bed.

Um.

That doesn't really fly as an excuse, does it?

I just felt so sorry for the soil in the flowerbed, which had had boards laid on it and workmen and ladders standing on it for weeks. It wasn't diggable with a spade, though it yielded to a fork.

I am sorry. And rather embarrassed.

Don't worry about it Ben. It's gone to a good home enriching a flower bed with organic goodness, which is what it's meant for after all. smiley - smiley

You're still welcome to come and visit anytime, and we'll proudly show off our new apple cordon which (weather permitting) we'll be finished planting up by the end of the weekend.
