Hello Metal Chicken!
Thanks for the warm welcome! I replied to your post back in My Space, but I'm not sure how things work around here and I did want to connect again, so here's my reply here in Your Space as well.
No, I'm not a librarian in real life (RL); I work as a technician in a doctor's office. However, I do LOVE books and am currently an English major at a university. My personal library is quite large. Of course, I don't think it's large enough, but visitors to my home are usually impressed! It might be a while before I unpack as there are only five weeks left of the semester so it is getting to crunch time with the studying. Keep checking back though!
In the meantime, I'll probably be getting used to tooling around the Guide for a bit. Although I'm brand new here as a registered researcher as of the wee hours of Sunday morning (the 7th of April), I have been checking in with the Guide every so often. It's changed a lot since I was last here (probably two years ago!).
Back to the homework!
G'day and Namaste,
Reika
Greetings to you!

Hi there (and here):-) Don't worry I found both replies. If you haven't already realised, conversations on H2G2 can be quite slow, but that doesn't mean we're ignoring you! The Guide certainly has changed a lot in the last 2 years. You must have been browsing around here in the pre-BBC days when everything was very different. Probably not many smilies and before the Alabaster skin was invented too - I still think everything looks better and friendlier in the classic blue goo. Feel free to take your time looking around before you get too heavily involved. H2G2 can be very addictive and time-consuming!! And the studying might start to get in the way ;-) By the way, if you want to talk about books there's a conversation full of avid readers here - http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/classic/F19585?thread=116314&latest=1 You never know you might find some good suggestions there. Enjoy MC
Thanks for the tips

Addictive?! You don't have to tell me! I've been spending just a bit too much time around here. I've already applied for a Keeper title and am thinking of becoming a Scout. By the way, did you say addictive? I'll certainly have to check out the site you referred me to.
I think the last time I was here, only alabaster was available, certainly not the classic goo (which I love). Definitely NOT the smileys! They can be fun but a tad overused by some. I am eager to get the hang of the language that will allow me to do some fancy stuff at My Space (which is already beginning to feel like home).
G'day and Namaste,
Reika
