Yesterday I did a load of laundry before my usual trip to Lincoln where I worked a non-sitdown four hours, taking with me four French dictionaries for the daughter of one of my co=workers to choose from. Beautiful bus journey home into the sunset, on which my seat neighbour "helpfully" gave me some crossword answers.
Half an hour later (having been very short, almost rude, to a woman who wanted to borrow a darning needle) I was down the road in a converted barn at a meeting of the recently formed local historical and research society. Seems some of our bits of Roman wall have been discredited, although the well known to have been in my garden may be of Roman origin.
This morning I had a Skype video conference about a new website my last employer is setting up. It went on for two hours, so I surreptitiously knitted to keep myself awake. They were unable to see my hands in Hong Kong.
The project, which may pay me enough to get most of the house replastered, involves helping PhD Engineering students with the format and language of their research papers - online of course as I'm about as far away as it's possible to be.
Printed out an application form and my CV (that took some finding as I've been retired for seven years) and faxed them from the PO next door. Had lunch in the local café and then went for my appointment with the diabetes nurse.
My blood pressure reading was spectacularly good. Everything else was not. My recent holiday in Ireland obviously included too much good food and drink. So I'll really have to diet hard before going back for Christmas.
Was told to stop taking Naproxin and go back to Cocodamol for dampening the pain in my right wrist. Has anyone got a use for he former, which will be destroyed if I take it to the surgery even though it's indate?
Actually, it's now Wednesday and I may spend all of the afternoon at a town planning meeting. At least my brain isn't going rusty: I got more right answers watching University Challenge (on iPlayer) than I normally do.smiley - starsmiley - star

I'll read up to see if there are any obvious contra-indications and will hang on for another month before handing them in. smiley - starsmiley - star

I always think its worth holding onto leftover drugs... 'just in case'... - apparently some of my strong steroidal anti-nausea cancer drugs make good hangover cures O I've been told smiley - whistle - I did try offering to my Brother when he was last here, as he was so hungover after we went out smiley - laugh but he seemed a little scared by the idea of taking my drugs smiley - laughsmiley - evilgrin

I do keep joking with William, that I fear I'm not really related to my Brother... I mean... my Brother's at least ten years younger than me... and, even whilst I was in the depths of chemotherapy.... he was so smiley - laugh - well I didn't quite put away as much booze as him, when we went out drinking, but not far off... the next day, I got up, was done with morning housework, breakfast, before he matterialised.... then he vanished back to bed smiley - laughsmiley - snork - mind, if he;s lucky he's just inherated differnt genes, and perhaps managed to miss the family cancer gene smiley - laughsmiley - zen - I do keep telling my Brother he's got to keep himself really fit.... - when he asked why... - I told him... - "well, you know... just in case I need a healthy relative for a bone marrow transplant at any point....!" smiley - laugh - oddly he didn't see the funny side smiley - snorksmiley - angel actually... must invite my Brother over for another weekend of drinking some time soon before Xmas smiley - zen
