was a lovely day.
Got up in time to catch the early bus into Lincoln only to find after waiting for 20 minutes that there wasn't one. Memo to self - always read the small print: the 8.15 is Saturdays and school holidays only. It was warm waiting though in my posh cashmere coat from China and when the sun got up properly the temperature in Lincoln was 14 all day!
Dropped off a package at the Old Palace in Minster Yard and then attended the brunch for Cathedral volunteers - full English followed by mince pies and spectacular ice cream.
I was given a nice little jokey present that I think may be intended for decanting jam into, and a small voucher for John Lewis/Waitrose.
Dreaming of what to spend that £10 on on the way home, I drifted off, but the bus driver sent someone to wake me when we got to my stop.
Bought small fish and chips for tea (£3.50)and kept my posh coat on both to eat them and to go down the yard to collect the bins.
Packed and taxi ordered for tomorrow, so all I have to do is clean the house (?!) and batten the hatches.
Happy Christmas. See you on Twelfth Night.

What a lovely time you had! Thanks for sharing. £10 is a nice bonus for acknowledging what hard work volunteers do.
I remember the party the Blue Cross threw for its volunteers. Nibbles and wine which I couldn't drink, someone kindly made me a there were prizes but I didn't win anything, and all those who didn't win got a Boots voucher. I could hardly contain myself, only to be massively disappointed with the £2.
Merry Christmas to you and yours
