Wand'rin star

From the war years to when I left the area in 1969 there was a huge white painted exhortation to this effect enlivening the journey into Fenchurch Street station. I noted its absence on what is probably my last journey on that line, and of course didn't recognise anything from Fenchurch Street to Tower Hill.smiley - starsmiley - star

Sho - employed again!

Blimey, it's years since I've been to Fenchurch Street station, and i only went then because I pestered my dad (because of playing monopoly)

I know that, but the mental image of Fenchurch being conceived in the station (in the ticket queue) is surely still vivid.

It would be much more public nowadays. No murky corners. Wide open and well-lit spaces with surprisingly helpful staff (see my next).
I am old enough (also see my next) to remember the original radio series that I much preferred to the books. smiley - starsmiley - star
