The thing about the first 5km run is that no matter how badly you do you still set a personal best time. It's the second 5km run that is the tricky one. All I could think of for the last 2k was "It's no wonder Jim Fix died of this..."

Your other mother got Monty's Pass in the office sweep and, remembering that George had once won by putting a bet on something he'd drawn similarly, asked Damian to put a fiver each way on it. He(being a dutiful son) took no notice and put a tenner on it to win.
