Weird carriage return artefacts in "The Vingean Singularity"

I left a message by the Entry, but I see now that you haven't subscribed to that discussion, so I'm repeating it here.
Hello Purple! Nice sub-editing, you've managed to make a complicated entry a bit more readable. You even explained the term nanobots (at least I can't remember writing that)!
But (and it's not a very big one) you've somehow introduced linebreaks (or carriage returns or whatever they're called) in the GuideML code. This wouldn't be a problem at all (almost) if it weren't for the sensitive footnote pop-ups where these actually show up (at least in Internet Explorer), making the layout of those handy yellow pop-up boxes a mess. Try putting the mouse cursor over one of those footnote numbers in the text and you'll see what I mean (hopefully). Can you still edit the entry, or is it out of your hands now?
The linebreaks rear their ugly heads in the Singularitarians section, right before footnote number 4. Since there's a break between "AI" and "" in the code, there is a space between "AI" and "4".
Another minor nitpick: There is no space after footnote reference number six (between "6" and "than").
And is a footnote within a footnote really allowed? Maybe footnote number five should be converted to a parenthesised (is that a word?) sentence.
There are no other problems as far as I can see. And I've looked, mind you.

Amazingly, I found myself wandered over to your space before I even read this message and discovered that it was you who did it and that you had posted a journal entry about it!
Actually, I don't remeber defining nanobot either. And I put all those newlines in so that I can read it in an editor which only has X columns.

Strange coincidence. Just goes to show that h2g2 is a small world after all.
I guess I wrote that bit about nanobots then. And you might consider not breaking up the code like that, since it gives the Editors extra work. At least I think it does; Ashley seems to have removed all of them, and I can't imagine she's been doing it by hand...

I just compared the un-edited version to the edited one, and I must say that you've done some really nice things! Just felt that I needed to tell you.

Um. I meant "he" in posting 4. I get really confused by people like Ashley and Lucinda.
Key: Complain about this post
