I just sent you an email. Should we start a listserv outside h2g2 and mention it on the underguide conversation threads?

Is proof-read one word or two? That one always trips me up, as well as "editted" and "editting." I missed a day in first grade when they went over the lesson for doubling a consonant when adding some suffixes. I've been overcompensating ever since.

That may be why I've never been hired to do proofreading or editting.

I have replied to your email, and started up a group: http://groups.msn.com/TheH2G2Underguide/_whatsnew.msnw when you join, I will give you manager rights, I don't want to take any ownership of any of this!

It is at present an open group, and anyone with comments to make is welcome to join. Please use your main h2g2 ID though, so we can all recognize each other.

Wow. I hadn't realized how much you had withdrawn from h2g2 until I read your personal space just now. I didn't realize how many regulars had left h2g2.

Does this mean the Underguide might draw you back a little bit? I hope we can do some things with the Underguide that you've found impossible to do in the Edited Guide.

Hmmm. I wonder if it will. I have such a strong sense of the possibilities of the UG - and then people post things which show that they really Do Not Get It At All... *sigh*

MoG is still around btw, though Magnolia isn't really.
