So how do you pronounce it? I'd say kay-row (as in argument, not boating).

Well he was probably technically correct in strict Welsh pronunciation in saying it as

Kai Rai (or k-eye r-eye if that works better)

However nobody who lives there/here or in Cardiff in general calls it that- they say.

Kai-ra (short ending, not raaah) is what the locals call it and I'd go with them.

So it really grated when they kept saying 'wrongly'
