Blackberry Cat , if one wishes to remain an individual in the midst of the teeming multitudes, one must make oneself grotesque Started conversation Sep 11, 2004
Just noticed your 2 excellent articles on Napoleon Bonaparte but noticed a minor flaw (IMO) in the title of the 2nd. Don't know who would correct it now if anyone now its subedited but I thought I'd mention it
Given the 1st mentions the dates 1769-1805 wouldn't it make more sense if the 2nd was dated 1805-1821 rather than 1769-1821. Also the 2nd ends with 'from Empire to Waterloo'. Given the time period covered wouldn't 'from Empire to St. Helena' or 'from Empire to Exile' make more sense.
Hope this doesn't seem pernickety especially at this late stage. They are impressive entries

Waterloo is there as it's symblic of his downfall.
I thought about from Empire to Elba as it's alliterative but there you go
The titles were originally the dates of his birth and death but the sub-ed on the first article has changed the dates to relate to those in the actual article. I believe he's going (or has done already) to post on the sub-eds forum to get the other title changed.
Well spotted
Thanks for the comments. Amazing what watching a documentary can inspire you to do

as good a reason as any, certainly Waterloo is what springs to most Brits minds when Napoleon is mentioned
I'm now subscribed to Peer Review so any observations I have should be more timely in future
