P'raps you need to recharge your batteries. A glass of vino maybe? Followed by an early night to recharge your physical batteries and an early morning on your knees to recharge your spiritual batteries! Then a bowl of porridge!!
God bless WelshGenghis from

WG
I've just been trawling through 212 postings on the Dawkins thread since being away 3 days. You've given me quite a few laughs with your one-liners.

Cheers mate! Didn't know for sure whether anyone appreciated them. Some things that tickle me don't necessarily amuse other people.

Hello again.
Just wondering, how do you think the GD by RD thread is going?

Well its busy! I check it out once a day and find 100 odd posts...too many to read let alone reply to.
I'm pulling back a bit...partly because its so aggressive; you can't even mention God without causing serious offence. I wouldn't mind if I thought I had a chance of changing anyone's mind.
The other problem is my workload...its usually ridiculous but its just gone 'off the scale' because of an unexpectedly enormous tax bill! So most of my energies are being directed towards keeping the proverbial wolf from the door.
I'm just off to check out the thread now...see if there's anything I can contribute.
Hope you're well, mate.

I know what you mean. I'm not so sure it's really very productive for us anyway. They are quite abusive, and I don't need it.
I find I get drawn to retaliate, and then end up being rather like they are. Problem is, unless you go through the whole thread with a fine-toothed comb, you wouldn't see that I'm only responding to provocation.
Do you think Psalm 1:1-3 applies to the GD thread?

Hi WG
I think it applies to christians...I've been reading George Muller's diary recently, the guy who set up and ran five or so orphanages in Bristol entirely by depending on God to provide. Its awesome! In his early christian years he came to the decision to take the bible as his only guide for life and living. His experience makes me want to copy him. Heaven knows what our 'rational friends' would make of that!
I think I need to learn to love God's word and spend much time in it. Colossians tells us to let the 'word of Christ dwell in you richly'. So often Christ's words get watered down in my mind and life so that they are almost unrecognizable...I think I need a richer mix!
Do you relate to any of these thoughts?

I think Psalm 1.1 is counselling us, among other things, against getting embroiled in futile arguments with unbelievers.
Yeah, the Bible is like a beautiful refreshing stream.

I'll have to find out more about him. I sometimes feel very inspired. Very often I find the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.

His words are revolutionary. Not at all easy to practise 100%.
I'm not sure our so-called rational friends are as rational as they like to think.

I'm currently reading a book someone has lent me, "Prayer: does it make any difference" by Philip Yancey.

I've noticed you've been getting a lot of flak there for your views on homosexuality. Anyway, I wanted to draw your attention to this thread. I thought it might be a good way for people to encourage each other with uplifting and helpful bible passages. If you have any to share, please do! http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/brunel/F26091?thread=5248600
