Thanks Katie,
I deleted it due to our problems, I was toying with the idea of using the space, that I can control without interference from above, to disperse relevant information as it is arrives. I have gained such a lot of knowledge slowly and it worries me as to what kind of problems lie in wait for us, we could actually be switched off with very little notice.
My email number is in Anneys new site, so if the worst happens whatever that may be, we should be in touch no problem, re my books, they are not on sale generally, some Lancashire Librarys have offered to stock them and sell them too, but I am holding back, for several reasons. They are, "Age of Steam and Tilting at Windmills also Beautiful Britain an official re-run of 1896, sponsered by Queen Victoria my version is sponsered by our Queen who has accepted a copy for her own library.
Cheers H.

Wow! Very impressive! I know just the person who would love your 'Age of Steam' - my other half .
A good idea about using your space to pass on info - it's becoming difficult to follow all the threads running at the moment on the subject of site closure. Incidentally, can you ket me have Anney's site details please - I can take a look and get your email from there - I don't want to lose touch with all the great people I've 'met' here.
Let's hope they don't pull the plug after all

Thanks arrold - I've taken a look at the site - will have to get 'the expert' to sort me out with msn . Thanks ofr the offer of the photo - is it the Gresley, by any chance?
I notice some people are pulling off their work - is this a mass exodus?

Thanks for the mail Katie, I am finding the new site difficult, but I am having a fiddle about each day and today I did put a line in.
I would struggle if I could not learn a bit at time, I have never looked at web sites before I joined G.W.
As far as I can judge people are joining other sites but staying put as well, to see what happens. I pulled my stuff off because I am not happy about not having control of my work, I tried to delete some and found that only the controllers can do that, and caite refused. The stuff that I did delete is still accessable and can be recovered, I don't mind sharing my work with the site, but when you go into the matter a bit deeper they as good as own it. Fortunate all my work is already copyright because it has already been published, I am glad that we did not put photos on site I would hate someone else to use them. It pays to be on Anneys site because if they do pull the plug we are all still in touch. No it is not a Gresley it is 6202 a Stanier Princess Class Baby Scot. THe Princess Anne, I have ridden the locomotive and been out all night with Princess Anne. I leave you to think about that.

Hi arrold
Sounds intriguing!! A night on the tiles with Princess Anne
I've just registered on Anney's site - I can get to the message pages but not the chatroom - something to do with my browser
That's worrying news about the work published in this site, though. I was under the impression that we retained copyright
Keep in touch
Katie

Thanks for the mail, yes we do retain copyright, correct but they have a share, nothing wrong with that, it was understood. What is not understood is that if they close the site, will they have our work in their files that we can not access, or delete properly? And we would then lose our share unless something of ours was sold, then they would have to ask us to agree.
Civil law is not one of my strong points and asking for clarification from members has not brought a result yet, but it will when it dawns on those that have work trapped inside journals. I have mentioned it previously if my fears are correct, we may have a good lever to use at the last minute, that could stop them from closing, it needs a lawyer to advise on that point, but care should be taken not to run up a legal bill, someone would have to go as security, and only a fool with more money than sense would do that.
