1. A woman needs to move the furniture regularly. Maybe some men do, too.
2. If I have to keep reading my same jokes I'll go crazy. Best swap them out.
3. New things happen to change my outlook on home pages.
4. It might keep the conversation going.

Well, hello Lil. Nice of you to drop by.
Having an entire web site to run at Larkfarm gives me plenty of room to be sprucing things up on a continuous basis. Here I think the impulse, for me at least, may be a bit different. I'm still in the midst of figuring out just what parts of my persona I want to have prominent on H2G2. In large part this place is functioning as an online writing workshop for me, so I find myself tinkering with the writing, trying to make it clearer and more clever (not the same as trying to be funny, I hope).
Then again maybe I'm just trying to provoke people to post something

After we got to chatting at the Addicts' Meeting Group, I dropped by to remind myself which researcher you were; ah yes, I remembered, the fellow with the farm. So then I linked to your Larkfarm, 2frogs and business sites and was reeeeeally impressed! I had no idea that Microsoft outsourced ANYTHING. And your animals are wonderful.
Anyway, once I start building my domain (I'm just paying a parking fee just now), I'm sure that I'll do things the same way you do.
This could happen quite soon: wish me luck while I'm out in the southwest US, because if the reps for the Lincoln County Historical Society approve my project I will have heap big PR forever.
Lil

That's ok, I just had to look up Lincoln County to see where it was. Dunno what you're interested in, but my recommendations: give Roswell a miss (too touristicentric), White Sands is a must-see, and also if you have time I was very impressed with the Three Rivers Petroglyph Recreational Site -- one of the best collections of petroglyphs I've ever seen.
Microsoft outsources LOTS of things. The last I knew something close to 20% of their headcount were temporaries or contractors. My outfit (MCW Technologies) had six or seven different contracts for little bits of the last version of Office. Of course, contractually I can't tell you what any of them were. But basically, although the design is always done by an employee, lots of code is written by temps or contractors.
Glad you enjoyed my other sites. Don't do things *exactly* like I do, but feel free to swipe anything you like. I'm all for the free flow of ideas.
So have fun in the southwest...Lincoln County is a lovely part of the country, and I hope the Historical Society has the sense to throw lots of money at you.
Key: Complain about this post
