I read it twice on holiday - you're right, it's superb.
Have you read 'Penguins Stopped Play: Eleven Village Cricketers Take on the World' by Harry Thompson? That's along similar lines, and just as funny.

Yes, I enjoyed that one too, even with the peculiarly depressing ending. I think the description in Fatty Batter of the passage where the Aussie fast bowler takes his tenfer is comedy gold, though.
