Apologies, in several directions

Firstly, I really was not taking a poke or jibe at the volunteers of h2g2. Often, what I write seems to make sense, but proves to come across in exactly the wrong way. My access time from work or home are quite limited, and yet I try to 'work' the Peer Review system where and when I find something that I can contribute to. Also, I briefly was a Scout, and have also become quite aware of so much that the ACEs, Scouts, Sub-Eds and Curators do. ALL of it voluntary. Of course I have respect for their efforts, I'd have to be seriously a fool to not recognize it. So please accept my apologies for raising your ire as I apparently did. And unless I have anything further relating specifically to Venus' article, I won't be posting further there.
In another direction, ... I have been very good friends with Venus for quite some time. And so have a bit of an idea of how hard you work at your hotel and gardens. I have seen your latest journal, and from here have no suggestions to offer. In my shoes, a number of friends would await the scoundrels next visit, and 'firmly' discourage any returns. That is not likely to be your way, and so I can only wish you good fortune in somehow resolving your own concerns as well as those of other local business people who are in the same boat.

Probably the biggest problem with message boards and community sites is that words that sound frivilous, humerous or light-hearted in one's own mind can appear sarcastic or nasty when read by another. I can accept that this what has happened between us if that is what you say. From my point of view, I'm quite used to volunteer-bashing and am very defensive of myself and fellow volunteers when I feel they are being criticised unfairly.
Hopefully, this is so much water under the bridge now, and thank you for taking the time to pop over with your thoughts. I really do appreciate it

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
