Well that is weird. I looked for yesterday and couldn't see it. Maybe they were still going over it with the x-ray machine looking for the hidden... oops, I've said too much

From the announcement regarding Natalie leaving h2g2 (for other parts of the BBC) and Sam Semple taking over for her I read this: "while serious headcount issues are dealt with, h2g2 is going to be a staff-member short."
"*A* staff-member short"? Only one? We're down to just one, how is that only one short? I don't know exactly how many staff members we had in h2g2's heyday, but I thought that just having two was well below skeleton crew level.
The announcement ends with this: "We would like to stress at this point that this temporary shortage is not a sign of things to come – the MOT process went even better than we could have expected and the h2g2 redesign process is well underway."
I've worked at a few places that were about to be bought out or go through widespread layoffs/redundancies and just before such things happen management always said that there was no reason to be worried.
Well, I'm worried.
