Well, hello there silvaa and welcome to the wonderful world of h2g2. I am one of the ACES... a group specifically set up to welcome all newcomers here and help if help is needed.
You will find lots of variety contained within the Guide. Why not start by checking out the welcoming page:
<./>Welcome-Newcomers</.> or
the <./>ACES</.> homepage and say hello to an ACE of your choice.
If you want to learn how to customise your page, then probably the best place to visit is the <./>GuideML-Clinic</.>. Here you can find out how to link to pictures, use different colours and generally make your page attractive.
Smileys are a must! Check them out here:
<./>Smiley</.> or just click on one to see its name or go directly to their home.
You may want to plunge straight in to writing articles for the Guide especially as you are a journalist (albeit an umeployed one at the moment!). If so, you should read the guidelines which can be found at Writing-Guidelines
One hotbed of activity is the 'Ask' forum at A148907 where you can quiz other members on just about any topic or join in various games. If you are looking for a specific group then pop over to A660304 which has links to all kinds of clubs and groups - who knows, you may find a long lost friend!
You can also find plenty of fun (all written by the h2gers and presented in newspaper-style) by reading <./>The Post</.> every week. They also host a useful page of links to lots of interesting places around h2g2, not to mention a full archive of past articles. You can find this page here: A660377
Of course, I am slightly biased as I am the editor-in-chief.
Whatever you decide to do... have fun, enjoy the site and do please drop by anytime for a chat! (You can do this by just clicking on my name and magically be teleported to my home page!
