There is only one thing worse than being Gosho, and that is not being Gosho Started conversation Mar 27, 2005
Hello emr I see that you're editing my Broken Spoke entry. Can I draw your attention this F1796496?thread=616322?
Also, while we're at it, I noticed something today while walking home that may necessitate another footnote to the entry:
"At the time, the city limits of Austin were about a mile to the north, and supposedly there wasn't another building in siteAlthough the Johnson Building, a couple of hundred metres to the south and on the same side of the road, quite clearly has large black numbers saying '1938' on its front."

Well you see, I actually returned it yesterday (I'm sorry I neglected to drop you a line; it was really quite absent-minded of me). That being said, I'll certainly post a note to editorial feedback, apprising them of the additions. I hope that's all right with you. Once again, my apologies. I'll just go wade in and propose more stuff to people then, I suppose...

No, it was very minimal. You write excellent entries, you know!
I just posted a note to EF. Thanks for being understanding of my silliness.

I've just had a read of your subbed entry... there's something you've taken out which makes the entry incorrect and misleading.
"The Broken Spoke has also been kind to many Texas, and local Austin artists" has become "The Broken Spoke has also been kind to many local Austin artists".
All of those artists are part of Texas music, but they're not all necessarily from Austin. The original wording was correct.

I'm interested in knowing the reasons why you took this "That's not to say that all dancehalls had a/c - most of them didn't. In fact the only ventilation in many cases were shutters which were flung open so that a breeze - and plenty of insects - could blow over the dancefloor" out of the entry. I put it in there to describe to the reader the relatively basic facilities at most dancehalls.
And also why the BBC links at the bottom were removed.

I thought it wasn't really in context where it was in the paragraph. You can put it back in if you like; that was a very personal and picky decision on my part. I can get like that when I'm editing things.
Jimster told the subs that we're not supposed to put the BBC links in the entry proper, due to the format of the forthcoming PDA version of h2g2. You'll find them in the 'related BBC links' list on the right hand side of the entry - under the 'references' tag in GuideML.
I'm sorry this is turning into such an involved discussion, and I'm sorry that I neglected to contact you from the beginning.

Well, I can't put it back in, but perhaps the Eds can.

Nice job on the Kenneth Threadgill entry

Do tell... I've never been very good at GuideML or ML of any kind...

Ottox showed me how to do this. Let me go and find the entry he made for me...
Ah, here we are A649082
Go to <./>test649082</.> and look at the GML for the three compass roses - it's a table divided by percentages
I think you can muck about with the figures to indent the outer two images toward the centre but I don't remember how I did that... or if I even *did* do that Maybe with ?

And you can do it with any number of images as long as they'll fit across the page and as long as the percentages add up to 100
At one point I had five of the three different Scout badges (two Goo, one large Brunel and two small Brunel) across my PS, each of which was a link to the Scouts page
