"So, therefore, use of 'I' is out, as is giving any sort of personal opinion about what you're writing about."
I know I've brought this up in PR threads with you before, but could you please stop telling people that they're not allowed to express any personal opinions whatsoever? That's just not the case -- a huge bulk of EG entries do, and as long as they do so in a *well-balanced* manner, opinions can add a lot of useful information to EG entries. Nowhere in the Writing Guidelines does it say that personal opinions are out -- it only talks about being balanced and showing both sides of a matter.
I don't mean this as an attack on you, I just think it must be very frustrating for new authors when they're hearing conflicting information about the Writing Guidelines from different Scouts.

I don't remember you having brought that up in PR threads before, but that's ok. I'll try to stop saying that.
I tell myself that 'I' is out, since I don't trust myself to use it properly, but you're right that this doesn't stop other, more skilled Researchers from doing so.
