Chance or regularity
Posted Sep 3, 2007
It was warm sunny day but I had too little time to enjoy the beautiful weather. I got up quite late so I hadn’t much time for my study. I’ve read a little, tried to read my book with an English elocutionist but he speaks to fast and I don’t manage to read with him. I repeated it some times. I was failure. But it’s never mind. I’ll do it again.
When my family awaked I had to cook, feed them, then I cleaned my house, wiped and did all other my usual everyday work. Then my cousin with her husband came. They’ve brought exciting news for my mother. They met her cousin who is 86 now and whom my mother didn’t see for 40 years. She lives in their native village now. My mother wasn’t there for these 40 years. Next week my cousin and her husband are going there and they want to take my mother with them. She was very glad. All residuary day she remembered something from her youth and was anxious. The most extraordinary thing is that some month ago my mother told me that she would like to see her native village but she had nobody there, her old house had been destroyed many years ago and it was too late because she was 80. And now she has such an excellent opportunity. I wonder, is it the chance or the regularity?

Methods of learning languages
Posted Sep 2, 2007
Yesterday I read much about methods of learning language. We can’t cut down a tree without a good axe. So I try to sharpen my axe.
I’ve read that it’s very useful to write diary in language you’re learning. So I decided to write this diary regularly. I’ll try to do this.

What do you think about your teaching?
Posted Aug 18, 2007
There is an interesting situation in our lives. When we are young we have to study. But often it's too hard and boring. There are many more interesting things around! When we are adult it's so interesting to study but there are many duties we have and it's hard to find time for study. I always have a dilemma. When I study I think that there so many things I must to do in my house and my family needs my care. When I do other things I think it would be good to study. Do you have such a problem and how do you solve it?

Interracial marriage
Posted Aug 14, 2007
My elder daughter is a four-year student of the University. Now she has found a job as a translator in the Marriage agency. I was wondered how much work she has and how many foreign men come to Ukraine to find a wife.
It seems to me it's very hard for a woman to change everything and to live in a country with other customs, another language, without friends and relatives. I think it's hard for a man too to get on with the wife who was brought up in another society.
Do you agree with me?

What do you know about your native language?
Posted Aug 13, 2007
I’m preparing for my Ukrainian tests and study Latin. Ukrainian is one of my two native languages. They are Russian and Ukrainian. I know the history of these languages quite well. And it’s a surprising revelation for me, that Ukrainian has saved so many ancient grammar forms and words. There are many commons between Latin and Ukrainian which you’ll not find in Russian, for example, we have vocative in Ukrainian, system of declension and declensional endings looks in general as Latin.
And what do you know about your native language?
