Funny thing was, I was only trying to see what I could do with dialogue. The story happened all by itself!

As i was reading it i was convinced poor old uncle Silas was a tramp. Is that what you intended? Dont mind me asking but why did you give up on writing your novel? Seems to me there was an awful lot of work gone in to it. You should never give up. I'm writing story that i am hoping to get published, i am also doing a writing course and have a tutor which helps. Perhapes you could give us all some taster of your novel if you have a bit of writers block we might be able to help with ideas.smiley - choc

Thank you for that. Silas was a funny story, I just wrote and it happened! I started just rambling with dialogue, then thought 'what can you tell just from dialogue? What do we assume?' It isn't polished, but so what?
I started writing my novel whilst suffering from clinical depression. I found my head churning out all kinds of stuff (not wierd or anything). It became important for me to focus on something, and give my mind something to do on the sleepless nights. It was amazing how active my imagination became, I wrote chapters per day.
When I recovered, I began thinking about real life again and began studying for my Microsoft certifications. Hopefully these will lead to a paying job, and I couldn't justify the time spent on a hobby like writing. As well as that, my imagination dried up and I couldn't come up with a satisfactory 'point' to the whole story. I got fed up with just reading it over and over correcting spelling mistakes!
If you'd like to read the first chapter or so, then follow this link (hopefully) A3062026.
Good luck!smiley - ok
