I'm afraid I don't know much about local groups.
Though I live in Stafford, I dig in North Wales with the NWCC, and cave in Yorkshire with the Northern Pennine Club or my old (London) college club, and haven't bothered looking for anything local.
A few of the NPC members are ex-Coventry-Uni, and might know if there is any club around there. I'll drop them a line and see if they know anything.

After a brief email problem, I got 2 mails back, both from ex-Coventry Uni people. A few of their old club meet up for a drink , but it's not really a club as such - the ones who still cave tend to do so as members of hut-owning clubs - NPC in the Dales, Wessex in the Mendips, etc.
Both seemed to reckon that a Birmingham Club (WEMSEC) was the only one they really knew of the the area, but neither of them had any contact details. One of their members has just joined the NPC as a probationary member, so I'll try and get in touch with him and see what information he has.
