h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Thankyou for your post regarding the availability of The Mysterious Cities of Gold on DVD. it was just great to see it again after 20 years! I bought the four disc set from raretv.co.uk, and it does have the 39 documentaries that accompanied the series, all together at the end of each disc which contain 10 episodes each. However there is currently a fault with the 4th disc, which will be sent out later. An alternative is the website www.mysteriouscitiesofgold.co.uk, which offers an 8 disc set, with 5 episodes per disc, the documentaries after each episode, plus the "to follow" and "in the next episode" links, and according to the website, some deleted scenes. Haven`t got too far into this set yet, but it does seem to have scenes i don`t recognize. Furthermore, a link has recently appeared on play.com "notify for pre-order" for the series on dvd, but it is not known whether this means TMCoG will get an "official" dvd release. I have read that the uk dub masters may not even exist anymore, still we can but hope!
