Thoughts on Yoga, approach to postures 1
Posted Aug 3, 2005
Yoga practice, have you noticed that most books on yoga show people in perfect postures(asanas) where as those who come to practice for the first struggle to attain even the basic positions, this not a criticism since it is important that correct methods are demonstrated. The secret for an individual is to fit yoga around the body rather than trying to squeeze the body into yoga. To become adept at the postures is ongoing process, but really where your at in this process is your present level of adeptness, pushing pass that point to soon destroys the essence of the practice. A purpose of the postures is to remove the obstacle of the body so that the mind can be still, if you can take away the distraction of the body then the realization of the Self through meditation can begin. This brings me back to trying to force into the extremes of yoga postures, it must to start with be a gentler practice letting the body find a natural course, over time the posture become deeper and stronger.

The Don't No Party
Posted Apr 16, 2005
I have just looked at the list of candidates in my area, what a sorry bunch, I've got some choice but no choice, there should be a separate box on the ballot paper for Don't No But Certainly Not This Lot, I think a lot of people would choose it when faced with the same old dross. Also I have noticed that that the Monster Raving Loony Party now have a few rivals for the title.

Dame
Posted Feb 9, 2005
What do I have to do to become a Dame
I,m not a very good sailor, so solo trips round the world is out
I can't ballet dance, in fact I can't anything dance
I'm not a famous actress and anyway the last time I was on the stage was the school pantomine, I didn't even play the Dame, I played Simple Simon(type cast)
So what extremes does one have to do to be made a Dame
Even if I eventually achieved something worthy, there will always be a little thing that gets in the way?

Friday

who needs Thursday when we have got Friday, what a great day
the only good thing about Thursday is the next day is Friday
The weekend itself that is about to unfold before you can only be appreciated on Friday
I'm feeling pretty Fridayish at the moment, plenty on at the weekend which is great, but the anticipation that you get with that Friday feeling is the best part
some start there weekends early on a Thursday, but that only create to much dead time before the real weekend which dulls the Friday feeling, lets face it you don't get the Pete Tong start to the weekend till Friday evening
I must make it clear, I'm not putting down Thursdays which has its good points(although at the moment I can't bring any to mind other than the next day is Friday), but Friday must be the coolest day of the week
What about Friday the 13th, well if your worrying about it being unlucky, then your wasting a perfectly good Friday(unless your a Knights Templar that is, but thats a long story)
Must go now, Pete Tong's moving things along

Memory
Posted Jan 26, 2005
somedays I just can't seem to......oh what was I was about to write about?????
long term I can remember what I did when I was younger in great detail, but ask me about this morning - no chance.
I have tried doing To-Do lists then I forget to check them
I can remember faces, infact I can meet someone I may know and reconize who they are right away, but their name...they might as well be called Noddy
I've tried memory techniques but then forget how to do them
and one last important thing??????oh I've forgotten
