Hello, my name is Paul/PB, and I've been a researcher for quite some time now, however I never did get a chance or had a strong enough desire to actually submit, or do anything beyond the occasional mindless article discussion. But then one day (today, November 3rd, 2000) I got this funny urge to start typing away. I've already managed to rewrite my introduction which is not the best, but could be a lot worse, and brainstormed some ideas for entries which I think will be really swell. But anyways, I thought I might give some background information on myself to satisfy any curiosoties out there.
My nickname originated at my place of employment in Plymouth, Michigan, U.S.A., which is known as Backyard Birds. It was given to me by a fellow by the name of Eric. It originally referred to 'Paul-Bear', the meaning of which I was never privy to, but then transformed into the much more agreeable 'Peanut-Butter', which then simmered down to just plain ol' 'PB', which is how it has remained for quite some time now.
Plymouth is a suburb of Detroit located between Detroit and Ann Arbor(which was voted the top place for a teenager to live by some magazine). The majority of the city consists of white, middle-class republicans, who don't like kids cruising downtown with their radios turned above 2 decibels. I am currently finishing up the first quarter of my senior year of high school at 'The Park'. 'The Park' is a combination of two high schools (soon to be three, they broke ground on the third one about a week ago) with a student population of just under 5,000 students(to learn more about 'The Park' see my up and coming entry). My friends and I don't spend a lot of time in Plymouth, but rather in Ann Arbor because of the great cinema scene (namely the Michigan and State Theatres, which will also have entries later on).
In my free-time, something I don't have a lot of, I am an aspiring ski-bum, philosopher, mountain-biker, photographer, with some knowledge as to investing strategies, and a lover of Italian-sodas and mango ice cream. I am currently in my fifth year of French and recovering from dysthymia. I am a lover of film and have a bit of interest in British culture, and have been compiling a list of the greatest films ever, which will also be published here at a later time.
I think that this will be a reasonable first journal entry, all questions and comments will be answered as my schedule permits, and if anyone is in the area and is short of money, we have a nice couch in the basement and a sofa bed upstairs which we(my family and I) will gladly loan to those in need.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
