Hi, we live not far from Paralimni in the SE of the island.
We're slightly inland but only about 10 mins from the sea. Nice area and not too overrun with tourists though we can get to Agia Napa in about 15 minutes if we ever feel the need!

Ta. It's the other side I know. Specifically - the Troodos. Even more specifically - Omodhos. The home of zivania in unmarked bottles.

That's not a bad book on prosody. But his style is

Ah, The Troodos are pretty and nice for a weekend, but there's snow in them there hills! 
I didn't leave Scotland to move somewhere with snow! 
And after a bad morning after a Cypriot friend plied us with an unmarked bottle the night before, you can keep the zivania!

'pologies for the last post. Wrong thread, somehow. 
The abbot (or whatever they're called) of Troodhitissa monastery told us that he's a good friend of the Orthodox Archbishop of Glasgow - where I live.
