Selling a House: Part 2

The place hasn't been this clean in a long time, nor this light in chattels, as the culling continues. It feels odd to be admitting strangers all the time, especially at the Open House today. That is perilously like holding a cocktail party -- thank god somebody came.
And thank god I don't have to be here for the next week as the viewings continue. I have had an offer, but now I enter a territory of carnivores intent on snatching a few thousand here, a few thousand there, off the stated price. Me, one of the reasons I drive a Saturn is that I didn't have to bargain with anybody about the price. They don't haggle. Neither will I.
My lovely and exasperating dobermann Gretta had to be put down on Friday, and it was tears all around, including the vet. I can't shake the feeling of guilt, even though everyone (including vet) says it was the right thing to do. I do keep looking around for her. But at the same time, a longstanding sinus condition has abruptly cleared up: can it be that, all this time, I've been allergic to her???

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
