So how is living and sorting out your new place going down in Old Lincoln Town (NM)?

Jeez, how did I miss seeing this? Sorry Phil, I'd have responded sooner if it hadn't fallen off the bottom of the page. This happens lately cos I have great difficulty getting to threads in the mornings (Mountain Time, GMT - 7)
Life is great in the hills!

No problems Lil. Just glad to hear that life is sorting itself out for you out in the wild west.
How's the plans for the straw house coming along. Kind of reminds me a bit of BluDragon who went to build and live in a log cabin all those whiles ago.

And, like Bludragon, I seem to be more and more marginalised on Hootoo, with a great band of friends but hardly able to go out and about.
Did you see the great news? The Atkin family is going to come out west this summer, and will be staying a few days in Lincoln as well as other places.

I've seen a lot of friends fall at the wayside recently and do hope that you won't.
Good news about the A's coming over and meeting up with you. I wonder who's idea it was Mikes or his parents - if Mike how long did he have to persuade his parents.
I've just been off up north over the may bank holiday here. Had a lovely relaxing time but still haven't seen the planetary conjunction. Always seems to be cloudy where I am.

All the really good astronomical phenomena seem to take place too close to the horizon -- I've got hills all around me. But the piece of sky I do have is pretty spectacular!
I think Mike's parents are genuinely interested to meet the woman who's been mentoring their strange boy... and I don't know whether they realise how un-straight he is. Anyway, Mike managed to keep it a surprise until Roger (his dad) emailed me. They're going to really do the West, starting and ending in Las Vegas, with 3 or 4 days here in Lincoln.
I really look forward to meeting them, especially Mike in person.

I've still not managed to see Mercury in this conjuction yet. This evening it was far to close to the horizon in the London skyglow even though the others could be seen with the naked eye (just about in Mars case). I hope some of the photos I've taken come out.
I'm sure the bits of sky you can see are much more spectacular than the sky I get here in London (not very hard really).
I think Mike did very well to keep from telling you about the plans.
It should be an interesting time for you, meeting up with him in person and his parents.
