Can i add you to my Fiends list? (It's always polite to ask!)
Obviously, feel free to do likewise, but beware, the backlog to my Journal Space Eye thread is immense, best to just dive in & say hi and go along with the daily lunacy!

Sorry, i do lose track a bit, which i guess is rather nice in a way, means i have a lot of fiends!
The cheeseboxes, ah. i always rather dread this question 'cos without actually seeing them, it's a bit difficult to explain. OK: here goes.
Have you ever heard of Assemblage art? Nope, i thought not. It's basically using "found objects" ie any old thing you happen to come across/ get given/ have lying around, to create some sort of 3 dimensional collage. Obviously, this has to at some point be housed within some sort of space; i mean, most folks homes could count as Assemblage art, the world in general; the Universe....
I call mine cheeseboxes 'cos since i live in France, there happen to be many cheeseboxes around, to be had for free from the local market & nice useful things they are too, wooden, round, square, rectangular, large, medium, small... & then i make scenes inside them, using my vast collection of "treasures"; which range from mummified lizards (merci Yoda!) to dried moss, old bones ( Snailrind) baby shoes (Shukra'an Yael)...you name it, i use it. Usually there's some symbolic meaning behind the thing, often a very personal one, it's really quite a therapeutic thing; like one is called "Post Mortem" & is based on how i felt when my beautiful deaf Dalmation puppy got poisoned. Not all of them are morbid though, another is called "Midsummer Night's Scream" & involves a mummified lizard dancing with a stuffed banana skin!
I don't have the technical capability to upload images on here, i can do so via email, zendevil3 at wanadoo dot fr if you want to say hi!
Here's an friend who does similar type stuff in New Zealand, very lady:

Oooooooooooh , nice link.Thank you. Went there tout suite and enjoyed tremendously. Had heard about assemblage art. going to art college at the moment and a lot of stdents there are busy assembling ready for exhibition in a couple of weeks' time.I'm doing a City & guilds in Design for craft and Patchwork/quilting,and touch on similar stuff. We design the first year and use those to make up items in fabric.
Made a wallhanging, a pyramid shaped box, acushion, a handbag and planning the final quilt. We've done feltmaking, printing, batik, layering and burning with hot guns ,dyeing, papermaking, etc, quite apart from all the sewing techniques and quilting arts.
Signed Dales Guestbook and received a lovely reply in return
I want to go on to use my designs to make Art Quilts after college(I'm a very mature student). Have a look at Caryl Bryer Fallert and Liz Berg, and David Walker Websites for the sort of things I mean.

Hi,Terri . Have you visited all these sites? Bryerpatch is one of my favourites.I love her work.David Walker has an interesting one,he does websites for a lot of other quilters and has an interesting blog too.
I've done some samples of crazy quilts but the polychromatic nature of them puts me off a bit.I prefer doing them in different monochromatic tones. They look more cohesive,I find.
I'd put stuff I've done in a gallery of photos, but haven't worked out how to yet,or how to do "links" to things.
Key: Complain about this post
