So I'm 40+3 with baby #2 and the midwife is a little concerned about the volume of fluid around baby and also the fact that baby is not yet down in my pelvis, so I'm sent off to see the consultant for a second opinion. Fair enough as they need to know what to expect when I go into labour.
So off to the local hospital I head for what I expect to be a quick 30 minute reassurance visit. On arrival however the midwife I see isn't sure of bsby's position so she manages to squeeze me into the schedule for a quick scan. We wait and eventually get this done, baby is not in my pelvis, its head is in fact somewhere near my right hip, this I gather is not ideal. Back out to the waiting room and we realise that S is going to have to leave in order to collect R from nursery. Eventually I get to see the consultant. Because of the fact that there is excess fluid around baby and it is not in a good position I am to be admitted to the maternity hospital as a precaution. Go home, have lunch, pick up your bags and head in.
They want me here due to the risk of cord prolapse, where the umbilical cord descends into the birth canal before the baby.
At the moment, as far as I'm aware, the plan is likely to be to try and get baby into a better position and then induce my labour. If they cannot get baby into a good position within a reasonable timeframe then they may consider a caesarian section to deliver baby.
Its currently 1.36am and I'm having trouble getting to sleep, patly due to being very full of wriggly baby, partly because I'm missing S and R, and partly because I've no idea what tomorrow ( or rather today ) holds for me and this baby.

Posted Dec 10, 2013
I told you I would be back. This is posted in a conversation thread elsewhere, but I realised it sounded more like a journal update so have pasted it over here. to anyone who had to read it twice!
I have developed a deep dislike of packing! We'll less packing, mire trying to pack with 'help'
S has his last day at work until Dec 23rd today don't think we will get much chance for a rest though.
Packing, moving, driving lessons, trips to Glasgow, birthdays, more driving lessons, a dentist's appointment, unpacking and a birthday party!
Busy week ahead!
I don't get enough sleep for dreams these days! Hopefully R will start to sleep a little Vetter after our move.

We'll it looks like I did it!
There's a journal posting for every day in November. Admittedly they are mostly self centred drivel, but hey you can't have everything.
What made completing the challenge this year easier was having to sit down to feed R several times a day. This time is usually spent messing around on my phone anyway so coming here and posting wasn't a huge change in routine and it stopped me playing quite so many mindless games.
Hopefully I will be back and posting a little more regularly soon. Saying that December us looking to be a little busy!

Been on 4 traons, 2 boats and in a car twice today.
I dislike public transport.
My niece is now 3 and it was lively to see her and her brother again.
These early years they seem to fly by so fast, do.t blink or you'll muss them.
my R will be 1 in jyst a few weeks.
Where did that year go?!

Visited the dentist this morning. Had 2 x-rays taken and they managed to do part of the deep clean they want to do.
Then this afternoon part of my filling came out. it was a temporary filling put in about a year ago (my reason for visiting the dentist in the first place) but as S's work hours mean he is ALWAYS working I haven't got another appointment till December 12th
Yep the day before we get the keys.
Argh!
