Well i made it to Edinburgh and back in one piece. And the "assessment" wasnt too scary. The guy i was talking to was visually impaired too, which i thought was cool he showed me a couple of cool gadgets, a wee video magnifier and a voice recorder thingy that would be useful for lectures, he also didnt seem to have any problems with the fact that i am a Mac user and actually told me that he is going to recommend a MacBookPro
which i told him would be rather awesome! I wont get any of this stuff unless its approved by SAAS it will be a while before anything happens, but everything should be in place soon after the new year.
Tomorrow is Judgement day, aka my Psychology Exam, it is multiple choice, so it cant go too wrong, hopefully. i also get to collect my exam essay from a few weeks ago and see how i have done on it.I am also getting some food delivered!
Dont have much planned for friday, i will probably go into town and get some Christmas presents for family and i need to get something for Kris as we are exchanging gifts on saturday
Yep more travelling, and this time to stirling (of more accuratly Alva) to descend on Kris for the day.
Sunday i have church and then i am going for lunch at a friends house which should be fun.
i think that is enough of an update.

The education authority... err or whatever the version of that is 'up there' should approve the DSA recommendations without any queery, so hopefully they'll do that sooner rahter than later and you can get the gear
Was it one of the new Olympus digital recorders?; I've a very old version of it, and a friend has a bit* more recent model, but I've heard good things of the even newer players/recorders they do Will you be getting another laptop then... I don't know much about Macs, so don't know what the one is you mentioned
I used to do most my lectures using a laptop and taking notes on that during the lecture, though when I did A-Levels i used to use a tape recorder and write the notes up afterwards; very good for helping remember every lecture as I ended up hearing each one twice in effect of course back then we didn't have digital recorders or I'd have used one instead of the cassette machine
Mind, I still used the digital recorder sometimes at uni, as some of the lectures I found easier to record whilst others I'd take notes on the laptop in the lecture itself
Good luck with the exam BTW

cant remeber what kinda recorder thingy it was, but it could hold DAISY formatt stuff as well as MP3s and you could put HTML pages on it to read and you could make your own recordings etc.
The Macbook is top of the range, lotsa memory and very powerful and bound to last a bit longer than a bog standard one.
And i am not the sort that worries about exams, but i might be worrying by lunchtime tomorrow.

for buyin such things nowdays especially as I'd not have that* much use for them
