Feisor - -0- Generix I made it back - sortof ...

My name is Feisor and I am an ACE (Assistant Community Editor) here at h2g2. It's my job to welcome you to the site and hopefully show you around a little. I AM a real person, not an automated reply not an automated reply not an automated reply smiley - laugh.

Welcome to h2g2 – not just the friendliest on-line community but an incredibly huge, living, breathing guide to Life, the Universe and Everything. It’s compiled by researchers just like you and it's something YOU can take part in. You can write entries on all manner of subjects, and if it's something you think would look good in our Edited Guide (where all the best research goes), you can submit it to Peer Review Take a look at the <./>writing-guidelines</.> for more information on that. smiley - smiley

You have made a great start by opening your space smiley - applause and there's no need to be paranoid - we are a friendly lot smiley - laugh I hope when you get to know us a little better you'll tell us a little about yourself - but there's no rush - and it's not compulsory smiley - smiley

We ACEs are volunteers here to assist new researchers so if you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask.
You can leave a message on my space just by clicking on my name at the top of this message or by hitting the reply button below - it won't hit back (usually).

I have made a "Hints and Links for New Researchers" page at <./>A719840</.> - if you go there it will lead you to all sorts of places which will help find your way around and get to know this wonderful place. It should keep you busy for a while smiley - biggrin

Oh, and don’t forget to bookmark not only your space but the H2G2 <./>FrontPage</.> - it’s a great way to stay in touch with what’s happening and leads to all sorts of corners which you may otherwise miss.

I am sure that you will love this community as much as we do smiley - biggrin There's lots of things to see, clubs to join and people to meet - please don't be shy - just jump right in - this is a friendly place. But be careful - it can become quite addictive - believe me I know smiley - laugh

smiley - cheers

Enjoy!!
Have fun!!!
and above all smiley - dontpanic!!!

hi feisor, i'm mucking about, ive got another page under Gerda but i got paranoid about causing trouble. iv'e been posting on the bbc boards and a lot of people been following me. i was worried about letting loads of trolls in here who would get super powers and make trouble on the other boards, overload the server or something silly, i'm a newbie and overreacting. appreciate yr thoughts, shall i keep separate id's or shall i carry on as Gerda on both? also ive got jontscript now, what happens if i forget and come in with it on? i was told not to use it here....

It's really up to you smiley - biggrin

You could always change your name completely and re-invent yourself - though lots of people here have more than one account (we call their "other" accounts sock puppets smiley - laugh)

I don't know what jontscript is - so I can't advise you there either smiley - sorry

I hope that you will not "cause trouble" here - I suggest that you read the <./>HouseRules</.> before you start. Also look at Unwritten Posting Rules at A8272172 for some great hints on staying out of trouble.

This site is one which thrives on respect for others, and balanced, rational and considered discussion (and more than a little madness smiley - laugh - we hope that all new researchers will treat everyone in the community with the respect that they expect for themselves.

If you have any questions about hootoo (as we call h2g2) or need any help just drop me a line here and I'll get back to you asap smiley - ok

Have fun

smiley - cheers

g'day feisor!
got any tips on controlling internet addiction? i just had to beg my tutor for an extension, got another 2 days to finish this assignment (phew!). the last 3 weeks i've been spending hours a day chatting on message boards instead of studying.smiley - doh it's a web- based course, and every time i go on line to study, i'm off again! i've only been connected a month, is this normal behaviour for a newbie?

another 2 days of agony then i got to go earn some pennies, then i can spend some time in here, do a proper journal entry etc smiley - angel .

see ya smiley - zoom
