I Have A Journal!
Posted Jul 4, 2004
This would happen to be my first Journal entry. Well, hooray for me. I don't know why I'm bothering to make this entry; I tend to neglect journals and diaries. I can't commit to anything. One day I'll say one thing and the next I'll look at it and say to myself, "What in Buddha's name was I thinking when I wrote that?" and promptly edit or delete that particular comment. That's something I feel guilt about doing, and I'll tell you why. If I have the right to express myself as the person I am now, who am I to censor the person I was when I wrote the offending material? Just because I don't agree with the opinions of my previous Self, doesn't mean that individual deserves to be censored. And yet, if I don't, then it is my current Self who must face the repercussions of what I had to say, and if I continue a discussion/article with a completely differing viewpoint than that with which I began, I'd come across as silly or even foolish. On most given topics I will endlessly debate myself until something distracts me or one side of my mind emerges victorious. I have a very dualistic nature, I suppose.
For now, I hope that I do continue to store my reflections here, if only to put them into words for my own benefit (how selfish I am). Good night.
