Welcome, Jeff, to h2g2 – not just the friendliest on-line community but an incredibly huge resource about Life, The Universe and Everything – compiled by researchers just like you
I love your intro .. so many people forget to open their space. It has a great tone and you sound like the sort of person who will fit in here really well I am fascinated by the way you can go from Buddhist philosophy, quantum and chaos theory to Spiderman 2 - sort of from the sublime to the cor blimey I am sure with your varied interests that you'll find this place amusing
We ACEs are volunteers here to assist new researchers so if you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask.
You can leave a message on my space just by clicking on my name at the top of this message or by hitting the reply button below - it won't hit back (usually).
I have made a "Hints and Links for New Researchers" page at <./>A719840</.> - if you go there it will lead you to all sorts of places which will help find your way around and get to know this wonderful place
It should keep you busy for a while I am sure that you will love this community as much as we do There's lots of things to see, clubs to join and people to meet - please don't be shy - just jump right in - this is a friendly place. But be careful - it can become quite addictive - believe me I know

Thanks for the nice welcome note. It's always nice to have one's presence acknowledged. Usually in community sites people are overlooked unless they work up a big stink or stack their pages with keywords... I certainly didn't expect a live human being to write me within hours of joining (this being the Age of Automata). As for quantum physics in relation to Spiderman and the Buddha, I believe that everything is interconnected at a fundamental level - things, concepts, people all seem to contribute to a chaotically flowing whole greater than the sum of its parts (which is the way of most things, despite what common sense and mathematics will tell you - a human body broken down into its core elements is only worth about two Canadian Dollars). Everything is energy in some form or other, and if you believe the zero-point theories out there even Nothing is full of energy. I could rant about that last statement for pages but I don't feel like essay writing today. Besides, I think I've digressed the heck out of this response (I do that).
Anyways, thank you for the offer of assistance, and the helpful link you've provided. Have an awesome day.

I enjoyed the "rant' and also believe that, if people realised that all things are part of a greater whole (or maybe hole would be more effective ) we'd all be better off. It can make you feel both very great and very insignificant all at the same time
Anyway ... you know how to find me if I can assist with anything
Key: Complain about this post
