“You Are a Lover of Words… One Day You Will Write a Book:
People turn to you because you give voice to dreams, notice little things, and make otherwise impossible imaginings appear real. You are a rare bird who thinks the world is beautiful enough to try and figure out, who has the courage to dive into your wild mind and go swimming there.
You are someone who still believes in cloud watching, people watching, daydreaming, tomorrow, favourite colours, silver clouds, dandelions, and sorrow.
Be sacred. Be cool. Be wild. Go far. Words do more than plant miracle seeds. With you writing them, they can change the world.”
Ashley Rice (American Writer).

Lynda,
This is for you. I wish I'd written it but this says it all. I was given this, on a bookmark, from a really good friend. It broke me to bits. It really did because it is so beautiful and inspiring. Every now and again, when I feel a little dishearted, I read it. It perks me up. It makes me smile. It gives me hope. It is blu-tacked to the side of the filing cabinet to my right. I glimpse at it everytime I sit on this easy chair and switch on the blue screen, choose the music and log on. It reminds me that what I'm doing - chatting on-line, reading, reviewing, writing book reviews, sending emails, dossing about, futtering, writing my own stuff - that it is ALL worthwhile and it ALL counts. And I can see the sky and the street from my window. I can hear the voices outside and the whirr of traffic. I can smell home smells and listen to the tunes, be it Jazz, Blues or film music. I have my man, my dog, the phone and an open door. I have the smokes, the coffee and sometimes beer. It's all there. It's all at my fingertips. I just have to realise that. And I do and you have too. Have faith, dear friend. I have. And we all have faith in you. “You Are a Lover of Words… One Day You Will Write a Book”, I do not doubt that for a moment.
(I had a long reply written out to follow this 'quote' but my machine went and crashed, so I've tried to remember what I wrote and then some. This piece is a lot shorter you'll be glad to know!)
Your poem made me sad. Felt bad. Sorry. Different time-zones. Was unable to get back. I've probably got this all wrong too. Anyway, have wonderful w'end. I'm away for the next few days until late Sunday. Hope to catch up with you then. Take care.
Jen
