Last night Rostropovich was conducting Vengerov again. We were there about two months ago. I still don't like the souless Barbican, but the Vengerov was magnificent, all the more so with the way be dealt with a broken string. Wish I knew more about music. But I'll learn especially as Simon Rattle is off to Berlin. It would be great to go there and to do that I need to start learning all I can about the wonders of real music.
