Yup, and since I'm a pendantic geek I can also say that the statement is actually wrong. A man is a woman with bits added, xx is redundant, so xy is more.
I've seen that comment quoted before, good to know where it's from. No, wait, maybe I've seen it the other way round... now I'm confused.

I think my daughter was right. The Y chromosome really is an X with a bit knocked off it. It doesn't just look like that.

Maybe we should ask someone in the human Genome project which is longer the x chromosome or the y. I hear they just finished their mapping.
