Just been having a nose around your site & eavesdropping a few conversations.
I think I left a comment couple days ago after reading one of your poems. I picked you out from that one piece as someone with a rare talent. Yes - you are, and this site will be good for you - confidence building etc. BUT - being the site it is, there are people of all abilities here. some will never be poets in a million years - most will have a very different style to you. You will settle into your own niche of like minded buddies and do your thing, hopefully without the conceited arrogance of our extremely HANDSOME Son of God.
johnmecca doesn't suffer fools gladly but has the good grace not to call people 'retarded', if it's not his bag. (although he has been known to toss the odd cuss here & there, if provoked!!)
There are quite a few really good writers to be found (penjen, godali, kev, indiewoman, nouska) to name just a few. Not all your style but - hey...... there is not a site for just the cream - and who would judge?
what is it that makes a good poem?
If it makes someone laugh?
If it makes someone cry?
If it makes someone think twice about war, the environment etc?
all these can be achieved in many different styles.
your writing is very deep - drawn I guess from anger and pain. you have a natural talent. you are right to pursue it. Sorry for rambling. Good Luck on the site.

PS just in case you sneak a look - I've deleted most of my work.

HANDSOME boy - see me behind the bike sheds after school.
I'll give you a lesson in humility!!

Thanks looby, I've not had much trouble with johnmecca, he seems to like my work a great deal. I've talked to most the others you've mentioned. My poetry is not always based in pain, if you have read it all, it's philosophy, social commentary, political, personal, romantic, I try to cover all of my life, not just the pain. What's Become of Panspermia for example is a look at IF we are just seeds strewn by alien races (a theory I reject but use for the poem) it was a great failure, and just created a selfish world that is fast destructing. The imagery is very abstract but fits. And I make them all short and sweet. My style just flows from me without rules and boundaries, and I have encountered nothing else like it because of such. I'm not gloating but I have been told on many occassions that I am truly unique and fresh. And that I have an original style and wording that is all it's own. I just have no idea how to get legit publishing. That is my goal. If I am what people say, someone should be willing. They cannot all be saying this for naught, or just to encourage. Thanks for the input!

Have you tried any publishers?
If you search net you'll probably find publications of the 'cutting edge' type. you ARE an original writer (as most are really) the difference is YOU can download from brain to paper in a truly effective style. BUT you need to target your audience where publishing concerned. It would be too layered for some.
It's a long process and rejections are par for course - but never give up.
you have much to say - say it. SHOUT it until they listen.
you have been lead to water - YOU have to do the drinking.
sorry about my earlier outburst, but 'someone' got my back up a bit.
have left comments on your latest.
understand more now you have said.

PS - your 1st book - can you put me in preface!!?
