Welcome to h2g2 – not just the friendliest on-line community but an incredibly huge, living, breathing guide to Life, the Universe and Everything. It’s compiled by researchers just like you and it's something YOU can take part in. You can write entries on all manner of subjects, and if it's something you think would look good in our Edited Guide (where all the best research goes), you can submit it to Peer Review Take a look at the <./>writing-guidelines</.> for more information on that.

I hope when you get to know us a little better you'll open your personal space and tell us a little about yourself - but there's no rush - and it's not compulsory

We ACEs are volunteers here to assist new researchers so if you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask.

Oh, and don’t forget to bookmark not only your space but the H2G2 <./>FrontPage</.> - it’s a great way to stay in touch with what’s happening and leads to all sorts of corners which you may otherwise miss.

I am sure that you will love this community as much as we do There's lots of things to see, clubs to join and people to meet - please don't be shy - just jump right in - this is a friendly place. But be careful - it can become quite addictive - believe me I know

Your English is fine! Your new introduction is great (congratulations on opening your space) In fact it is, in some ways, so good that it is obvious that it is not your first language

You obviously know the words - I think that what you are having problems with is the grammar and the style - and hootoo (as we call h2g2) will certainly help with that.

You will find that, once people understand that you are learning English, they will be very helpful and patient, so please just jump in and take part in any conversation that interests you.

If you have any questions or problems with hootoo just leave a note here and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.

If I am not here (you can tell be the "eyes" which show beside the name when a researcher is online) you can always ask another <./>ACE</.> for help - there are lots of us.

I notice that you have been leaning messages on personal spaces to get to know people - that's fine but I really think that it would be more productive for you to join in the general activities of the community. That way you will meet many people.

The community has some places where everyone gathers - such as <./>AskH2G2</.> - the conversations there are many and varied. I am sure that you will find something there to interest you. If you wish to reply to someone in the conversation do it in the thread - not on their personal space (as you did with Blues Shark) Most people are involved in many different conversations at the same time and, when you reply to them in a separate message thread they will not know which statement you are commenting on

Have you looked at the New Researchers link that I left for you in my welcome? It will help you become more comfortable with some aspects of the site and help you find which areas will interest you the most.
