High Sea Hijinks
Posted Jul 27, 2004
Aaah.. just returned from a research cruise out to the endeavour hot vents (200km off the coast of Vancouver Island), and now i have so much to catch up on... Such an amazing experience, I love being out on a ship, I think that I may have to spend a year or so working for the Coast Guard, words cannot express how much I love that feeling. Man, working here has got to be the best job in the world.. with the Coast Guard coming in a close second. See, all of the research ships here are also Canadian Coast Guard vessels, so if a distress call comes in, all science is suspended and we go and rescue damsels in distress.. or ships, y'know whatever. Haha, met a couple cute Coast Guard guys, always important.. was interesting being the only girl on board ship.. good thing i like hanging out in big groups of guys.
Hmm... what else.. well, reading a couple books (naturally) and uh.. dreaming about living on a ship. I dunno if anyone's seen the TV show "Firefly" by Joss Whedon (absolutely love the show, bought the dvds and watch them far too much), but I wish that I could do that, only y'know a ship instead of a spaceship. I would love to have a ship, and just travel around the world on it, and trade or something. would be great.
Ok. back to work.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
