My parents have cancelled their planned trip to Canada. This is because my Dad is both a miserable old git and a hypochondriac. He has decided that he won't be well enough to go away in September (that's some crystal ball he has!) I'm very annoyed with him because my Mum has wanted to go to Canada for about 40 years! The trip was for three weeks in September and as I can't get any time off at all in September, let alone three weeks, I can't go either!
However, all is not lost. My Mum is still determined to spend her insurance money on a trip to Canada and she is now suggesting that she and I go for a shorter break next spring. So, what I wanted to ask you was - when is spring in Canada?

Oh! Wow! Spring is really now. Some years it can be as early as end of March or April, but sometimes it is still quite snowy and cold. Now is really the "safest" sprintime; the lilacs are just blooming, the Tulip Festival was May 14 so that is a sure sign; May 14 is sprintime in Ottawa.
Wow! If you come to Ottawa I will have to show you around! I would offer you to stay here but it would be on a couch or sleeping bag; we do not have any extra room really..........not "private" at least........
Toronto is pretty much the same weather wise as here, but if you are thinking of the Maritimes,BC,or Saskatchewan the springtime might be different.......I haven't travelled enough to be able to say........
That is too bad for you mum though; it is horrible to get one's heart set and then....the "crystal ball" strikes......... : /
If you have any questions I'll see what I can do; if you want to send me your address I could mail you travel type stuff too..........
Take Care.
Have a fun week!

Thanks Snow - so late May/early June would be a pretty safe bet for good weather then?
I'm going to see my Mum in about three weeks time for further discussions. I'll let you know what we decide. I'm trying not to get too excited about it as our trip is still a year away

Yes. The tulip festival is aprox. May 14-24 but that depends how big on tulips you are; this last week for example has been beach weather!
30! A lady from England I work with has been finding it much too hot! Though of Scotch and Spanish decent I must lean toward the Spanish as I love the heat! I enjoy snow, but not cold.
Hope that helps.
It would be cool to meet if you come this way!
Snow.
