LOL!!! That's a truly wonderful and worthy award to win! I'd be even more impressed if that really was you... This is the cricket picture that tickled me - scroll down to read the names by the photo:

But if you were a good cricketer I expect you'd have admitted it by now!

Alas no, it's not me, I've never been any good at playing the game, just watching it. The team in yr link seems to be dominated by two families with very similar names.
Hopefully my pix should be here:

Lovely pictures Andy. If you go from greenhouse cat 1 to 2 it looks as if she's opening and closing her eyes! And your mum's cat looks beautiful. Very smooth and cuddly.

I've just found the "The Rages of Garlic is Love" poem as I must have skipped it when you posted the link. How true! Much as I like it cooked I do find raw garlic rather overpowering though I believe it's even better for you uncooked isn't it? Keeps EVERYTHING (and everybody) at bay. I realised the other day that I haven't used a garlic press for years but prefer to chop it but then have reeking fingers. Gosh, never mind garlic bread, this is turning into a garlic thread!

>It's easy to post in the Archers Lockin as you'll find registering a [piece of] cake being a techie type.<
Obviously not techie enough - tried to register using my existing hotmail address but nothing happened - probably due to cookies being blocked. Is it worth my trying to sort it out? Could look at yr pix OK.
btw I hope you found that you can email me via the website - if you didn't then shout at me because it must be down to my bad design. The email addr isn't quoted directly to avoid spammers picking it up, but hidden using JavaScript. Not that I'm suggesting you should email me (of course!), but if you ever want to, it's there. Just don't include "Viagra" or "Valium" in yr text - c75% of the emails I get to that addr are spam. The addr is presumably being picked up from other people's m/c's. I read recently that this country is the worst in the world for zombie PCs ie in the control of spammers etc.
Got another cat pic!!! - tabby (I think that's the right description) taken today, coming soon to a web page near you.

Hello, I was about to go as I should be doing other things - as always. Strange, I found registering there quite easy using an existing address (not even hotmail) so there must be a technical problem - though what cookies have got to do with it I have no idea! Must be those chocolate chips melting... I haven't really used the Lockin though it's handy if people want to exchange emails etc as an address can be put on and then removed again. I avoided that anyway by exchanging email addresses a couple of times via the lovely Keri.
As far as I can see you have an email address on that website but I didn't send you an email as I didn't want to order any tickets! It's a bit of a trek from here... And somehow, I doubt I'd mention those V words, not when ordering tickets anyway!

Back again! Re WOM Michael Rosen said something along the lines of "MabelJane has sent us 'As doomed to failure as a bouncy castle birthday party for hedgehogs'". Which I'd posted on the thread a week or two before. But so far my recorded bit over the phone hasn't been used - unless it was today? But I think that Douglas would have emailed me by now to tell me as he probably listens to it "live". He's been posting to WOM for longer than me (and he's recently posted his lovely 1950 wedding photo in the Lockin) and it was after a while that we realised we're practically neighbours! So he comes to tea and plays Scrabble etc here now and again. He's nearly 80 and his dear wife died a few years ago. Lovely man.
Sorry, off on a tangent again! Wonder if you've gone now!

this is so incredibly slow, wonder if they've really sorted out all the problems they had with the MBs yesterday

I had gone then looked in again. But the eyes remain, Cheshire cat-like for a while after the body has departed...

No. When's it on?
I tried to make 42 with you r no. but it seems fairly impossible. Are you going to have a go or shall I ask Achilles to try? He'll find a way!
Where's that tabby cat?

Mind Games is on at all sorts of times, usually about 8-30ish. It's full of the sorts of puzzles I love, as a mathematician. I usually record it and watch it so I can pause to give myself more time to work out the answer before they do. Includes quite a few traditional puzzles I remember from when I was a kid. But it's not all maths, word games, logic, puzzles with matchsticks, all sorts of things.

MabelJane Posted May 2, 2006
Oh another mathematician!! So why haven't you worked out your 42 yet with a fiendishly clever solution?

MabelJane Posted May 2, 2006
Oh I did see a prog some time back which may have been it....I recall a padlocked chest with extra keys which had to be transported to and fro. A couple of people on each team? I like puzzles but my brain's not always on the right wavelength if I haven't used it for a while and I'm not that clever with numbers.
Better go soon.
Goodnight.

>Oh another mathematician!! So why haven't you worked out your 42 yet with a fiendishly clever solution?<
Just had a go at 42 over breakfast and got:
(7 * (-2 + 5) + 0) / 0.5
Is the decimal point allowed?

MabelJane Posted May 3, 2006
I should think so but I have to admit I didn't understand the sum at first but my nine year old's just explained it to me...of course it's obvious now!
