I was sorry to see you getting outrageously abused by GrandpaBuckie in h2g2's most furious forum last night.

Here's a tip: if you want to hit back effectively, don't just insult Buckie back. Hit the complaints button (the little 'shocked' face in the bottom right-hand corner of each posting) on the offensive posting, tell the Moderators about it, and get the posting removed. And when you do, ask the Moderators to tell the h2g2 Editors about this latest offence by Buckie.

Abusive postings are against the House Rules, so you don't have to take them. And this is the best way to respond to Buckie, because nothing provokes him more than feeling that his First Amendment rights are being violated. People have tried to explain to him that the US First Amendment doesn't apply in cyberspace, but as far as he's concerned America is the world - or if it isn't, it should be. And I've already complained to the Editors about him, so I think he's already had a warning.

Thanks for the advice I have a bloody awfull flu at the moment and I'm prone to doing first thinking afterward.
