Tell you the truth, lmn, I've been getting increasingly disillusioned with hootoo. Not a sudden thing - I've had it in mind to leave the house for two months or so. Some of it is because people seem to deliberately misinterpret my comments in PR and respond rather sharply (not necessarily the person on whose Entry I'm commenting). Also, I've felt a bit upset at the reception some newbies have received in PR, one even said that 'he'd never before rec'd such a frosty reception'. Another thing is that people seem too full of what should be the 'hootoo style', and thus overdo their attempts at humour. I'm finding this a bit irritating. Also, some of the convo threads that I used to enjoy contributing to have degenerated into inane, meaningless drivel. I'm also concerned about how much hootooing is done during w*rk time - compare the (lack of)postings at weekends or after 5.00 p.m.)
I've decided to withdraw from PR, both in terms of posting and commenting on Entries, and just stick with 2 or 3 convo threads, and see how it goes.
Anyway, have a great Easter

Big Al. I wanted to write a more thoughtful response to your withdrawal.
I havent been involved in PR much, i'm a little overwhelmed by that whole process. So i can't comment on that.
I hear your 'newbie' response, and i'm wondering about that. As a relative newbie myself, i have to say that the response i've had has been very welcoming, and accepting. Not frosty at all. I wonder what it was that this other newbie experienced. I don't know what a 'hootoo' style is, i dont know that there is one, not that i've seen, anyway.
I enjoy your contributions. I love your intelligence and your humour. I hope that i'll still run into you here and there. I guess not in that particular thread.
and.. about your w*rk time commenting, i love to be able to escape to hootoo when my work gets too far into my head (its kind of stressful, and sad, and i have to get away from it sometimes)
