Emmily ? (Haven't spoken to you for a long time). It's pleasant that my BD has fallen on a weekend But a lot of it is taken up: I've got some coursework marking to do , my father has been in hospital for 7 weeks and so, every Sunday, I take my stepmother thereto visit him. She's totally blind so is totally reliant on me for this. Also my 5 yr old grandson is with us this weekend and keeps wanting me to play, which detracts from the marking I have to do. I want to retire....

Hope you enjoyed your birthday. You do seem to be busier in your new job than you were in your last, though I got the impression there wasn't much job satisfaction there, hope you're happier in your new job, not sure if we can still call it new, you've been there a few months now.

Just read some of the Entry on batteries in PR, and some of the thread.

A couple of nights ago, our TV remote control got really hot, my partner opened the back cover and discovered I'd mixed the batteries (he called me all the silly cows under the sun ).

Now I know instructions always say not to mix batteries, but I thought that was due to the more powerful batteries draining power from lower power ones, (seemed a logical assumption from a ) just meaning that they wouldn't last long, and if I wanted to waste batteries that way, that was my choice.

I know now why not to mix batteries.
