h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I was born a long time ago in the county of Hampshire. In Rookwood Maternity Home, Allbrook Nr Eastleigh to be precise. My first few years were spent in the village of Fair Oak, before my Mum got the chance to move back to her home village of Colden Common. I lived there for just over 12 years. Then my mum and dad moved to Chandlers Ford. I lived there for a few years before marrying and moving to two addresses in Winchester in under two years. The I had a chance of buying my own house in Eastleigh, (Desborough Road actually). After several years there I had the chance of being in charge of a shop, but had to move to Whitchurch, near Bristol to get the chance. Several more years passed by, the shop closed down and I moved with my wife, and by then 2 children to Houghton Regis in Bedfordshire. After two moves in Houghton Regis, and a move to Dunstable, where I was in council accomodation I had the chance yet again to buy my own house. Where I live now is in Luton, but over the other side of the road is Houghton Regis, and two hundred yards away is Dunstable.

Hobbies.. DIY, Gardening

Love of my life.. is really my wife. Sencond love of my life Southampton Football Club, since the age of about 6. Other interests include History, and Hampshire Cricket Club. I have three grown up children all away from home. My wife also has 3 grown up children (we have only been married 12 years or so!) All from previous marriages for us both.

Did you know that there are now houses on the site of the old maternity hospital? Been there about 15 years or so.
Do you get back much?
Eastleigh has changed beyond recognition.

Yes I know as my Mum & Dad still live near by so visit them often. Also my Great Aunt lives in Highbridge, so knew the Maternity Hospital had gone. What a shame eh? As for Eastleigh, they've knocked great chunks down, including Rossi's Ice cream. The best of all ice creams I think

Since my first entry, I have moved from Luton to Wisbech (Cambs). I found work in a canning Factory, then a care home, now work as a Concierge for a local Hostel. Wisbech is a lot quieter than was Luton. We are near the sea (Hunstanton). Fairly close to Peterborough, or King's Lynn. At present my wife is fine, and nearing her 65th birthday. Bless her.
