Well, first of all, thank you very much indeed for this kind invite. I'm often not around weekends and I'm afraid this Spring Meet coming is no different. This shouldn't disappoint you though, as I am terrible company; intermittently rude and very, very boring.

I don't believe a word of it - well, OK, I believe the first part.
Pity you won't be around.
