I'm sorry that you are so devastated by R.murray's departure. I just wanted to tell you that it had nothing to do with me! He made open allegations about me threatening him and sending him emails etc. when I was nowhere near this place: in fact, I was away ATTENDING MY MOTHER'S FUNERAL, so believe me, rod and Get Writing were the last things on my mind!!!

When I got back to find 2 nasty messages in my portfolio, accusing me of posting under the nickname "scarlet pimpernel" (which I am NOT-check with the person himself-rod didn't bother, of course!) and 2 emails accusing me of threatening him and harassing him, I complained to the Editors.
Prior to the anthology debacle, when rod openly made comments about me being a failure etc.(clearly in breach of house rules!) we were, I thought, friends-clearly not!
I used the Sally Bowles nickname in order to write short stories for the Final Drafts circle-not to flame, troll, or make mischief or deceive people for any nefarious purpose. Rod "bravely took on the anthology challenge"...I was content to let him do so, and I wished him luck in it!
I have not been "pushing my crap", as you put it-you know NOTHING about me, and I would appreciate if you would make the effort to do so, before insulting me in mainstream threads.

Once again, it seems that rodmurray has managed to deceive people as to his true character-so be it. You can believe what you wish-good luck to you, and anyone else who "mourns" his loss-I would have done once, but given how he has behaved to me over the past few weeks, I would certainly no longer do so.

First of all I am very sorry to hear of your personal loss and all the hurt that that has caused you. I really mean that. This is neither the time nor place for you to have this extra burden.

But this situation, here, in GW, has occured and the blood is still curdling-hot in some camps. And has every reason to be so for many different reasons although quite various for specific folks.
I know you are 'NOT' SP, and at no time even suggested that you were. I said quite the opposite, if you'll take a reread, to discover.

I don't know you. I do not know much of your former history, nor does that interest me, but I do recognise a major crisis and the sorry consequences sparked by people with multi-identities, and how their presence can throw suspicion into upheaval, stir the genuine and set the place into fury.

You have honestly explained your reasons why you felt you had to create another moniker, SB, and that's fair comment. But you must realise that those who may have built a rapport with you most certainly will feel cheated and used a little. Their decency and friendship on the sly of it. I would feel exactly the same.

Because of your recent unveiling, you will always be tarred with an element of scepticism injecting paranonia into those who are now aware of your previous multi-activity. That is understandable under the circumstances. See it from their side.

I am not interested, or do I personally care, of your and Mr Murray's disagreements. It's none of my business. What I DO care is how there are a brave number of multi-posters, sh!t stirers sneaking around freely on this site wrecking havoc, being nasty and getting away with it. Decent people are being targeted, bullied and insulted beyond the call of dudty. It riles me that NO ONE in the GW management team seems to be trying to remove these time-wasting con-artists from the folds of GW.

THAT is my bone of contention, NOT just this recent carryon.

My comments in the post you came across were not directed at 'you' personally, but at someone else, please realise that. And why should I care? Well, I just do. Afterall what the hell are we all doing tucked up in here for, if not to hone our skills. share our wisdom and ideas, develop as writers, encourage and support each other in an 'honest' and 'constructive' manner, like adults?

If this had have been someone else, (other than Rod), I STILL would have put my oar in and splashed in the dirty water. Your gripe with each other is not my concern. My gripe is with all the dishonesty, petty slandering. bickering, undue nastiness and childish behaviour that has ensued, spoiling what could be a wonderful place to so many.

I don't need luck, I need faith in this place and it's members. not much to ask, is it?
Otherwise, what is the point?

I can only tell you that, had you received emails threatening you with police visits, immediately after coming home from your mother's funeral, and beeen accused of something you did not do (sending threateninfg emails to RM and Kitty, as well as making threats to rod on his portfolio, your reaction would have probably been much worse than mine, which was, simply, to complain to the Editors about it!!! The man did not even trouble to look at the person's portfolio, he simply made ASSUMPTIONS that I was "going to come to his house and attack him"-for God's sake, WHY??????? I am not so petty or so stupid as even to think of such a thing-obviously he is so self obsessed that he is???


If you want to pin "multi identities" and shit strirring on people, what about the sainted rod murray?? If you ask Mighty Joe , Spiderbaby and other members who have been here from the outset of the site, you will see that HE has been one of the worst offenders in this practise-he only STOPPED when he got warned by the Editors after his most recent misbehaviour in May that, if he did it again, he was permanently banned.Prior to that, even we his "friends" never knew who he'd appear as next, or who he planned to mock or troll!! The "good behaviour" has been very much a recent phenomenon, as has the positive attempts to crit. work and support members. Again, older members will vouch for this, should you care to enquire, though I doubt you will, having already sat in judgement on the case.

I repeat, I have NOT made a practice of using multi ids, and I have CERTAINLY not used the Sally or Findo ids to attack or mistreat anyone!!!! I agree, there are SOME who do it, and I agree, they OUGHT to be hounded out.

I defended R.m. frequently in the past, often against my better judgement. Again, ask the older members about this. I feel bitterly angry that this small minded individual, who has clearly got some personal issues against me, has so traduced me in this way.I don't personally care about how you feel about me, nor do I expect you to feel differently after this message, but I deeply RESENT the implications of your message, and I am bitterly angry that someone like R.M. should be given the moral high ground, when he has, so frequently, upset and mistreated many others in precisely the way you allege of me.

I would take Mighty Joe's advice, get on with the Anthology, do your writing, and keep up the fight against the nasty trollers and flamers-above all, don't make the mistake of "befriending" one, as I did with Rodmurray, otherwise you will be seriously hurt by it.

Okay, so what we have here is a failure to communicate.

Cameron... I haven't yet read PenJen's comments to you.

But I am unhappy about the way that things are continuing. The subtext here is that PenJen, like so many others here, is sick and tired of the scrapping that is going on around GW. It's getting so that there's no thread safe any more.

As you are aware, I am one of the 'grand old men' of GW, having been here since the early days.

During that time I have seen lots of wazzocks come and go.

There have been trouble causers who needed a pretty big slap, and they have all got it.

I've seen people get terminated from GW because they constantly stirred the waters. It has to stop. Even if that means a little GW vigilanteism.

Yes, RodMurray has been a 'villain' (being polite). But for whatever reasons, be it threats from GW Editors, or him suddenly finding religion, or whatever, he returned to GW with a new outlook and was making a strong effort to be a good citizen of this community.

He wasn't after approval or brownie points. He was just being more responsible, and wished to continue as a member of the site, putting his sordid past behind him.

When a black sheep returns to the fold, should we not welcome that sheep instead of slaughtering him?

EVERYONE deserves another chance, and from what I could see, as hard as it was for him to do so, he was getting his act together.

You may get the impression from this that I am defending his recent behaviour. I am not.

It was to say the least ill thought out, and I can only assume that he felt angry enough to respond, and did so without thinking first, remember that he was in fact the victim of the initial attack, he merely erroneously attributed it to you.

This whole debacle has been one sad sorry mistake, and I think it would perhaps serve you better to continue here with business as usual.

I have already responded to you Cameron in my portfolio giving you my thoughts, so I will not go into things at great length again here.

As for choosing friends, I am quite happy to class you as my friend, and equally happy to say the same about Rod.

I don't believe in 'playground politics', I only ever take one side as well, and that's the side of who is right, and in this instance it's not you or Rod.

You've both acted in haste about a situation that could have been resolved earlier with a deep breath and a little fact-finding.
