Of all the people on this site, you have given me more encouragement than anyone.
I still don't know what 'type' of writer I am. I have done experiments on here - posted work put together in two minutes, silly stuff, and it's drawn loads of comments. (because it's simple and easy to comment on - I suppose). yet some of the more serious stuff is ignored, because, I assume, people don't know what to make of it. It's a mystery.
I think a lot of your stuff is so clever, satirical, witty, deep etc, it goes over a lot of heads. sometimes mine too. so therefore, I genuinely don't feel qualified to crit such a talent. I know I find it fascinating and probably the most original I have seen but it doesn't seem enough to just say 'I loved this penjen' when I can't explain why.
I am 51 years old. I've always had it in my head (buried) somewhere the urge to write but have always been too busy earning a living to do anything about it. I left school at 15 without a qualification to my name, although I had always liked 'English Composition' which is what we used to call it. If I couldn't (or couldn't be bothered) to do set homework, I would write a poem instead. They seemed happy with that! Since that time, apart from the very rare occasion, I have not written at all.
Since finding this site a couple of months ago, I haven't been able to stop writing. However, as you say, it's very addictive and in one way is stopping me from moving on. My ultimate ambitition is to write a comedy for TV. (reach for the stars or what!!). We all need a dream.
So I am deleting my works from the site and disappearing for a while. Before I go I will have another good look at your work (and a few others who have been very supportive ) and offer my humble opinion.
If you would like to keep in touch by email, leave a message and I'll post address for short while on works (so it can be quickly deleted).
Thanks once again for your fantastic support (especially the INFID poems). You'll never know how valuable that was.
Cheers

Looby,
FIRST of all, I owe YOU a big apology - My drunken late last night personal posts to you - There was NO intention to hurt, just a little pink-faced paranoia from wee PissedJen! (Should have seen post I left on Sir Mecca's poem around 4am - yikes! still blushing with my bare-faced cheek shrek!)
ANYWAY, sorry if it did offend. Me on a bender lends itself to a little trip-over of madness.....
I am also deeply SHOCKED to hear that you are quitting the quill of your skill here. You can't! Have discovered that you have removed all your work too - Cruel blow! Was intending to shuffle and truffle through your works when had more time, as time it deserves. You will undoubtedly be missed severely.
You have that rich and rare insight into what really lurks beneath and can carry off humour, emotion, deep thought and dark reality in all guises and disguises. I am an avid fan of your poetry and will admit that you, among a few chosen others, are the ones that keep pulling me in here and part of the addicition that also interferes with other work that I SHOULD be concentrating on. You have given me the confidence to 'try' and write, as haven't really written anything in ten years. Most posted to date is revamped, random and ranting. Haven't really got an idea what the hell I'm on about either, to be honest!
You don't know how grateful I am to have had the classic calibre of your good self acknowledge my work. Means a hell of a lot to me. Really does.
I have always thought you were the same age bracket as myself, (me very young 33yr old!), and feel that we have more in common than possibly realise! It's what is in the mind, the heart, the experience, that niggling thought and search of soul that makes it worthwhile, and to actually WRITE about it is the ultimate of golden gifts. YOU for sure have it all wrapped up in every department. Always my pleasure to unravel and see the words spill out.
Follow THAT dream, girl! I for sure as hell know that you have it in you and much more! Have read a lot of stuff, (as work in a bookshop, a library and write book reviews for the press. I also cast an eye over all kinds of MSS for a local publishing company), so I can safely say, I think I can distinguish the 'talent' from the good, bad and the bloody awful. You in top 5% on this site, no kidding. Get OUT there. Get published and KEEP writing. You HAVE to. You OWE it to yourself and others. And please, please pop back into these wings with those true treasures of yours. You seem to have a wealth of influence over a lot of people here, and have earned a well-deserving respect. Spend time with that knowledge and to coin (opps!) a phrase - Splash out, save and bank the ideas and let them loose. Will miss you.
And yes, would be honoured to email if you are still up for it. I am usually here through the night (10pm until wee small hours). Let us know.
Credit where credit is due and you Lobby Loo, have been a rainbow here. Paint the world with your distinct colour! You sure brighten up the place, sod the Dulux variety! (Nice dog, though!)
The best of luck, lore, language and love, dear Loob! Be that BOSS and kick ass!
And thankyou! You're a STAR! Shine on!
