That's another one that's got a long-standing British equivalent:
Barrister: Officer Dimbleby, would you please tell the court in your own words what happened on the night in question?
Officer Dimbleby: Yes sir. Hi was proceedin' in an easterly direction along the Marylebone Road at approximately 11.45pm when I hespied the accused acting in a suspicious manner. When I happroached 'im he ran off and I proceeded to give chase.

OK... that was my very first "removed" post in the ten plus years I've been on h2g2. I asked the 'moderation team' for the specific reason for why the post was yanked, but I got no reply. So I'll try to edit it on my own which means I'll probably cut more than I need to.
Here goes:
______________________________________________
OK... So, I'm out drinkin' and I go to relieve myself (as one is wont to do)...
And I see this scratched into the wall above the urinal:
"WEKOME TO THE USSA!
"YOU CAN THANK" (off to the side here is this---->" OBAMA "
"ARAMA"---- [edit... original was a misspelled racist term leading into Obama's name]
"WAKE UP AMERICA"
This was in a fairly nice "pub", granted it's a pub in Texas, but this one has a nice selection of beer so I expect it to have a nice selection of clientel.
So, besides the blatant racism, this makes me curious about the usage of "USSA".
Was that a mispelling?... No.
I'm guessing, "Union of Socialist States of America"?...
So I Google. I find this: [WARNING VERY OFFENSIVE]
[EDIT: a youtube video that if you really want to view search for "USSA Obama]
I put my head in my palm... this is what we've come to.
Just a week ago a young friend of mine forwarded an email to me with a litany of "bumper stickers", all espousing the conservative ideal of "Humour".
I replied back to her
"Jesus , do you NOT remember the last 8 years with that fing
idiot in the white house?
Turn off FAUX News and stop believing all that fear mongering hatred
already."
Her reply was, "What? I thought they were funny".
I reply back, "Do you know what 'PROPAGANDA' is?"
She really didn't.
I reply back with this:
http://library.thinkquest.org/C0111500/proptech.htm
Propaganda is what I am confronted with on a daily basis... from people who don't know what propaganda is!
They blindly repeat to me that Obama is ruining this country because he's a socialist/fascist/communist/Nazi/.... they don't care that some of those terms are mutually exclusive, just as long as they are perjorative!
I'm scared. The U.S. is in a similar cultural and societal state as pre WWII Germany. I am seeing resemblances to a pre-Orwellian society and it scares the out of me!

Two in a row. How queer.

I give up. The moderation team won't reply to let me know precisely what offended them.
Basically I was commenting on some stupid racist bathroom graffiti I saw the other night.

The Mods won't ever reply, it's the Eds who do that, and this being the weekend they're probably all on the golf course.

OK, back to more fun Stupidity.
Everyone's familiar with the Balloon Boy saga, right?
Well, it just got more surreal and I don't think the press knows why.
I just watched this clip from the Today Show: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21134540/vp/33410540#33410540
Look for Perry Caravello.
Perry Caravello is commenting on Richard Heeny. "Any stardom to him, is good stardom. Whether it's good or bad it's still good stardom."
WOW!
Perry Caravello is the "star" of a little known movie called Windy City Heat. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0383053/
The entire point of Windy City Heat was to be a practical joke on Perry Caravello. Perry's two friends team up with Adam Corolla, Jimmy Kimmel and Bobcat Goldthwait to fake a film production to feature Perry as the hard cut detective hero "Stone Fury". They're not making a Stone Fury film, they're just making Perry do some really stupid stuff because he is the most gullible idiot they know and he actually thinks he'll be a Hollywood star someday.
Seriously, this Balloon Boy story is about to get really weird if Perry Caravello is involved.

MTV and U2 are putting on a "free" concert to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.
To make sure no one but the 10,000 "free" ticket holders see it, they've erected a "wall" around it to block the view from the streets.

I hate U2. Bono is a sanctimonious git (I'd call him something stronger but I don't want to be yikesed in my first week back ). I have no respect for a guy who demands us all to help him and his cronies save the world, then build a very environmentally unfriendly stage set for the world tour. Oh yeah, and that time he had his hat - his effing HAT - flown first class across Europe.

Indeed. Some parts of the US just seem so...insular I guess.
Mind you, I have a good example of stupidity for you. My mum would hate it if my sisters or I ever took home a 'Paki' (which in her world pretty much covers anyone from the Middle East and India) because they're all horrible people and would make you convert to Islam. I was truly shocked and said so; I just couldn't believe she'd tar all these people with the one brush. The worst part is, she's my mum :-S

Google for "Tim Minchin Taboo" for a great song on prejudice.

This happened not far from here on the road to Galveston. This fellow is trying to blame it on a low flying pelican, but it's just another instance of an eedjit on a cell phone.
I present for your pleasure the world's most expensive phone call... and someone just happened to get video of it!
